SECRET WEAPON OR DEATH PLAYING CARDS

The ace of spades, the so-called "death card" is featured in many movies about the Vietnam War. The symbol is also depicted on various unit crests, special operations privately-made patches, collar insignia, and on flags and painted vignettes on military aircraft and gun trucks.

WHY DO SOME CUSTOMERS DEMAND EVERYTHING FREE?

This one is really not card related, but it is related to Newt's.  Since Newt's has become so popular over the past year (our sales are 3 times what it was last year at this time) it has created some growth issues.  With that growth comes mistakes...both on our side and the customers.  When we make an error (yes, we to make errors) we do what we can to try to correct it.  The thing we can not do is give away free product.  It amazes me the folks who want everything free.  Then if they don't get their way they threaten to sue!  What exactly has our spoiled nation come to?  We claim we want customer service and then try to hold companies by the throat.  WOW.  Let's work together here.

BTW, Should we make a mistake on your order we will do what we can to fix it, but please don't ask us to give away the "sun" in order to do it.  We are in business to stay in business.  Many "large" companies have begun to give away everything and have suffered from it financially, some to the point of going out of business.  We implement more and more changes to eliminate errors and we have done extremely well over the past several months.  So honestly, if you are so uptight that you are going to bug out...you may be better off to shop elsewhere.

WHAT IS THE "BEST" CARD HOLDER

Here is one customers question, "My husband and I have arthritis and carpal tunnel, which card holder do you recommend?"
ANSWER:  WOW!  That is a trick question!  Although we have a lot of excellent card holders, my personal favorite is the card hugger.  I like it because it is easy to hold in your hand OR you can set it on the table in front of you.

BILL GATES GETS A POKER LESSON (Joke)

Bill Gates dies and goes to heaven. Saint Peter greets him at the pearly gates and says, "Bill you're such a unique individual that we've decided to give you a choice between heaven and hell."
Bill thinks about this and asks if he can get a look at the two options.
St. Peter says, "Sure, I've got a couple of windows you can look through."
So he opens the window to heaven and Bill sees lots of angels sitting on clouds plucking harps.
Peter then opens the second window to hell. It's a brightly lit casino – lots of people drinking, laughing, and having a good time. There are  dancing girls on stage and in the corner a nice little poker room. Doyle, Mike and other poker greats are playing Bill's favorite $3-$6 Hold 'em. There's an empty seat with chips and they wave at Bill to come join them in the game. Bill tells Saint Peter that he's decided that hell looks like its more fun than heaven and he wants to join the poker game. St. Peter snaps his fingers and Bill's wish is granted.

Well about 6 months go by and St. Peter decides to see how his friend Bill is doing. He opens the window to hell and there is Bill shacked by his ankles, hanging over a fiery pit. Peter asks him how he likes his new home.
Bill says, "St. Peter, this isn't anything like you showed me. What happened?"
St. Peter responds, "Sorry Bill, I thought you realized that was just the demo version".

COPAG "PLASTIC" PLAYING CARDS

Brand new to Newt's are COPAG playing cards.  They have taken off like crazy and this is just a glimpse at some of the questions we have received in the past week and a half.

1)  Are these cards as good as KEM?
ANSWER:  Honestly, it is very hard to tell the difference!  I know they use 2 different types of plastic, but the Copag playing cards are so similar customers coming into our store cannot tell the difference between the two.  Don't get me wrong, KEM Playing Cards are some of the best plastic cards out there, but I think Copag gives them a good run for their money.  Not to mention they are half the price.

2)  I found your advertising compelling for the Copag playing cards... too bad they are only available in Jumbo Index!  Are there any regular index versions available?
ANSWER:  Yes, regular index will be out soon.  Right now they are so popular that Copag is having problems keeping up with production.

WHAT IS A "BLACK-OUT" CENTER

Email Question:  In your description of the Celebrity Playing Cards it says "• Regulation quality playing cards with black-out centers."  I don't know what "black-out centers" means and I can't tell by looking at your pictures of those cards on the website.
ANSWER:  The black-out center is the type of insert that a playing card company puts in between the two sheets that we see (the face and the back).  The black-out makes it impossible to see what the card is from the back.  Some "1-Ply" cards are able to be seen through when you hold them up to the light.  Needless to say, if you are playing tournament or serious poker you want the best "black-out" there is.

PHOTO PLAYING CARDS ARE EVERYWHERE

The photo playing cards have gone through a lot of changes in the past year.  Not only have they caught on with a HUGE craze, but the folks we originally had doing ours closed their doors in February.  Since then we have seen a lot of websites popup to try to catch on to the craze.  Just like the Iraqi Most Wanted craze, we were here before they were popular and we'll be here for long term.  We are not just jumping on a band wagon, playing cards are what we do!

Our first email says, "Hi - I am interested in getting the photo playing cards for my parents but they need the "jumbo numbers" playing cards.  I have inquired and have been told they are not available.  Is there any chance you can look into this?  Grandparents are the best group to give these (photo) cards to  - they are also the group who need jumbo numbers! thank you, "

Email question two, "I was looking to do some personalized cards for my wedding party. But instead of a photo, I was hoping to do some logos for each of them. Can this be done with the photo cards?"

NEWT'S POLITICAL CARD ASSORTMENT IS LIKE NO OTHER

There are WAY too many emails to go into any kind of detail here about our political playing cards.  We have literally received HUNDREDS of emails about our political playing cards.  The bottom line is...they are HOT!

It all started back in January when I decided to make a deck of cards in support of President Bush.  Now we offer not only that deck, but many other political decks that cover a huge spectrum of politics.  I don't believe an election year has been this polarized in years.  I personally believe there will be a record amount of folks at the election booth in November.
